You are likely right, the natural gold price momentum with the 2 projects producing right now would have been enough to get the options up. If they ask retail to fund it then they are in a way halting that momentum, especially considering the share price is still in struggle street. It is probably some sophisticated investors and major gold bulls are going to be funding this. You never know, they may have some sort of minor part to it with a retail component.
