It the tale as old as time, when to tap the market for growth capital?
My read on it is this capital they are seeking will enable the company to have more stock on hand to get their equipment in the hands of customers faster + add a few more needed resources to the team to support Chris and Co who have been run off their feet over the last 6 months.
If this helps the company win a larger slice of the pie for already awarded contracts (WAPOL) and others in the pipeline, Iam ok with it. Think about this, if Iam WAPOL and have approved say 6 providers (incl RKT) to supply equipment and services & RKT can sit in those meeting when formal contracts / purchase orders are being made and can show they can deliver 5 - 10 units within a matter of days vs other providers that may be 3 - 6 months away from delivering equipment, who do you think has a better chance of being awarded a larger slice of the purchase order? Same goes for the likes of the Tier 1 miners / infra / Gov clients that may be considering say multiple units in an initial order and can see that RKT can deliver the equipment and have them onsite to fly in a matter of days / weeks (thanks to the vast CASA approvals in place), it puts the company in the box seat to land more material contracts from the start.
As the pipeline continues to grow at pace, now is the time RKT needs to have the right support to land these multi year customers that grow nicely over time (like Anglo going from $500k to a $2.5mil contract within two years)
The risk the company can't control if they were to back themselves to land more of the tender pipeline over the next 6-8 weeks, centers around what would macro conditions look like / broader market conditions when the company may have looked to come to market at that time? Obviously the window is closing for those companies seeking capital into year end, that come late Nov essentially closes until mid - late Jan.
With the company so close to being cash flow positive, I would expect it would be the last down here at the current market cap to raise capital (in the absence of a company changing contract / deal). Make no mistake, Limiting the amount of new paper being issued down here is key to greater short, medium and longer term outcomes for all shareholders as the company moves into profitability / cash flow positive territory. I appreciate there is a tradeoff / considered decisions that need to be made in respect to the above mentioned and when the right time is do so.
