I don't see how that could be the case.. Not in conjunction with the lease agreement as surely the market would have had to be informed when the lease was extended as I don't think they could sign a JV so soon after the lease extension was granted and if they did, they should have disclosed they were talking to potential JV partners..
Without the lease they would not be able to sign a JV or get additional financing so I still think it can be nothing other than the extension.
