Well I had a quick google and the ATO seems pretty sure a merger triggers a taxable event. Then as any shares in a new entity are brand new we would logically lose any benefits of being a long term holder for the CGT discount, unless of course we acquire another company instead of merging but we don't appear to have the funds for that and BSX has repeatedly failed to conduct successful capital raising for over a year now. Looks like we're probably booking a very large loss this financial year to me going by this.
