Thanks for pointing out that dilution can increase MC. I guess then that MC by itself is not a true measure of shareholder wealth if MC can be so easily manipulated. I measure my wealth by number of shares held by share price, and if the share price falls, then i lose money. I agree that dilution is not a bad thing, but it is if the only thing it does is increase MC by lowering the share price as you have mentioned. Dilution is a good thing if the money raised funds successful phase 3 clinical trials, funds lab research into parkinsonian disorders other than MSA, submitting BLA’s to the FDA, etc. A win win for all, patients win with medication that can improve their lives, shareholders win with a rising share price and company profits (dividends and share buy backs), and the economy wins with more economic activity.
