The key changes include:Increase in ATM interchange fee: The fee for cash transactions has been raised from Rs 17 to Rs 19 per transaction.Non-cash transaction fee hike: The charge for non-cash transactions (such as balance inquiries or mini-statements) has been increased from Rs 6 to Rs 7.Maximum customer charge: The cap on the fee that can be charged to customers after exceeding their free transaction limit has been raised from Rs 21 to Rs 22 per transaction.These changes are expected to benefit ATM operators and banks by providing more funding for ATM operations and maintenance4. For companies like Findi (ASX:FND), which operates ATMs in Indian cities, this increase is anticipated to have a positive financial impact3.However, consumers may face higher costs for ATM withdrawals, especially when exceeding their free transaction limits.
