Actually my favourite and one of the greatest of all time was Rio Tinto's acquisition of Riversdale Mining for $US3700,000,000 (eg $3.7B) in 2011 which was then sold for $US50M in 2014.
Mining is a risky caper and following the money doesn't ensure success
