That is a comment I see bandied around on quite a few threads when dealing with junior companies that are involved in exploring either for minerals or for oil and gas.
That is why they are speculative shares. They have to spend money on their exploration efforts and unless they are extremely lucky it takes time to find a resource and prove it up to the point of being able to get into production.
Invariably those companies are not bulging with funds and have to constantly go back shareholders or investors to get more money to keep them going.
As the old saying goes you can't make an omelette without breaking an egg or two .....or three.
The other alternative is to sit on the money and do nothing. Like we want that to happen.
