Any acquisitions of note in the past have been announced without a trading halt. The ones that have been accompanied by a trading halt have simply been because of a cap. raising to pay for it.
They are not in a position at the moment to be making major acquisitions without a trading halt, so while it cannot be ruled out, I would be surprised if it was an acquisition.
