Just to follow up, I have lodged a complaint online with ASIC. I will let you know if there is any substantive response (although I am not holding my breath).
It would be nice to know if nothing else that ASIC do invistigate, ask difficult questions, and therefore deter.
For once I would not mind if "big brother is watching me"!
