i guess, the situation that i talked above common to micro caps or small caps (though many bigger stocks do get into it at as well time to time).... and those stock not just affected by what dumb thing management do but also affected by active stock manipulators who sit on hotcopper and one hand creates multiple profiles to pump stocks and on another hand selling them and reverse is also true where they create negative environment and try to collect as much as they could before their mates in the company announces positive drill results ... lol

so sometime those manipulators dump shares as they are shorting stocks so your stop loss get triggered and then you end-up selling something .... !

now, next thing is trailing stop-loss where you take profit and don't wait until price goes 20% below your purchase and that could get you some profit early in the game but not everything that you may get otherwise if stock continue upward journey.

so all in all market involves risk and any company that doesn't compensate their holders for that risk will be the one people will exit and put it aside in banks until they find something that do compensate for the risk you take in stock market... in my opinion..> !
