I agree. If we get rid of all the businesses like this on the ASX, what's left for proper diversification in safe assets to park the winnings from speculating on mines?

You can't even just "buy the index" because the index itself will be worse off, having less defensive businesses. Anyone notice a pattern how Ag is getting bought up? Or a variety of defensive stocks actually, Crown comes to mind. Can anyone think of more?

I really believe we need more defensive stocks rather than less.
