The MYR website is going from strength to strength.
Myer ONE continues to increase its membership base and if this year's EOFY reports disclose a similar percentage of holders using the card as occurred 12 months ago, it's justified to call the program a success.
Economic conditions are not great and consumer sentiment poor, but the slightly upper middle class and above that are MYR's main clientele appear to be still visiting the website in droves and spending.
Holders or not, we ought take our hats off to Mr John King who has managed so far to execute a great turnaround story.
For me though, the most outstanding aspects are twofold: first, if one can find a staff member in-store (sometimes challenging, as management has to keep high labour costs under control), the vast majority are pleasant and helpful, and two, the website is constantly being refreshed with new offers and products.
The main annoyance is how quickly some items go 'out of stock' but getting supply in from overseas (especially but not limited to mainland communist China) is far from easy with overseas port delays. Except for Sydney (recent bad weather), QUB's other nationwide stevedoring operations are running well and not delaying container ships, though September/October 2022 with peak Christmas supplies hoping to arrive for MYR and competitors may be a test on the wharves.
