'Deteriorating conditions' is a worry for any retailer, and yes, MYR could be affected, but one mistake you're making is to regard 1H and 2H as ideal periods to compare.
As stated above, sales in 1H (July 31 2023 to I assume about 27 January 2024) are normally higher due to Christmas, plus Boxing Day sales. That USA idea 'Black Friday' (many take notice of this, I don't bother to shop then) is also in 1H.
