Always a good idea to err on the side of caution with a wider margin of safety. On the point of trading, I am not trying to pick a short term upswing or a trade by catching the knife - instead I enter at a price that is a discount to fair value, and have absolutely zero clue whether the next move is up or down... but bank on the long term price convergence towards value. Hence willing to cop mark-to-market losses in the near term
Point 1 is an interesting one... shorting is often speculative on the ASX with short interest rising post events rather than being a predictor - I think not much info can be drawn from it in most cases as most is speculation that focuses on your 2nd point. Agree with the notion bad news usually comes one after the other but again, ISD at $1.80 seems a solid buy and hold given sub 10 multiple
