The first northbound intermodal (container) train for about 11-12 days (Sydney to Brisbane) has travelled through the previously flooded Maitland station outskirts and as at 0745 on Sunday 17 July was approaching Gloucester NSW.
Far from ideal to have such a break in this important traffic that often includes LAU consignments.
Let's hope it's a while before another major disruption. The rail network can be fragile.
