When you look at some of the broker reports from a few months ago, much of this slow down in Asia was already anticipated. Macquarie for example had sales slowing by 7.5% Which isn't far off. Europe is weaker by 3% but that's nearly offset by ANZ being up by 2%.
System sales expected to be $4.23mil for the year and currently run rating at $4.278mil. If Asia can recover and the rest of the regions continue this perfomance this actually sets up for a pretty well for the medium term.
So apart from the miss of about $10mil in profit, this update is more or less in line with a lot of the consensus views.
Will be interesting to see the trading activity over the next few weeks, I wonder how much of the selling today is Algo or retail.
