I am not so sure that Lithium is the way to go but that is more gut feeling because there is a great excess of lithium searches on the go already and it will not be a surprise to me to see the lithium battery experiment to fade over time with new technologies accelerated by the lithium flammability issue. I believe that it will cease to be the preferred grid storage option probably replaced by sodium chloride based solid state batteries.
