A wrinkle on the purchase will be European bond (fixed interest rates). The Spanish (Greeks and Italians) access the Eurobond market s at an incredibly low (negative real yield) rate that they really don't deserve [IMVHO].
In due course SFR is going to be able to access a bit of that. I have a couple of other points about how funds managers would see this but I'll leave it for a couple of days so we can all digest the momentous news.
