You wrote "This is a big vote of confidence in the new direction. For a large company its amazing to see they are being so aggressive. A large Australian company thats capable of seeing the forest for the trees? Didn't think that would happen until the boomers retired. It helps when AF chose to keep getting more educated.I'll be monitoring closely to see who they bring in, but my confidence is growing each month that FMG will win the race with Tesla to enact the biggest environmental change for our planet and eventually the boomers will wake up"
Ah the arrogance and ignorance of youth presuming you are young (and if you are not then you just plain mentally challenged )
take a look at the change going on around and you will see most of it was foundationed by boomers
Information technology probably the biggest change in recent times was driven by boomers some still there some moved on.Names you might want to look up here include include Jobs Gates and Page
Your beloved Tesla was actually conceptualized and started by 2 boomers Eberhard and Tarpenning. They brought in a baby boomer with megabucks for seed capital shared the vision with and mentored him and moved on,Musk continued and executed the dream
Tarpenning still mentors start up entrprenuers in Silicone valley
In Australia all the front running on climate change was boomers many of whom very active still (google Flannery)
It wasnt to long ago that an Australian boomer prime minister was ousted by a group spearheaded by a millineial who thought his outrageous beliefs on the need to adjust to climate change were OTT He still an advocate for change and actually on our board
The other aspect is youth will generally be more accepting of change without critical questioning (easily brainwashed) The military everywhere take advantage of this not always to the best end -eg Hitlers and Mugabe s youth gangs willingly controlled large swathes of the popoulation through terror
Yes those wrinkly rockers can be a bit inflexible but they are not all on a rigid rail and time has shown that a combination of both works best more often than not
