As an outsider may I proffer some unbiased thoughts;

1. Regardless of was the CEO pushed or not she has had a transformation effect on the entity - just look at the share since she was appointed, a rise of more than 300% (see attached chart).
2. I suggest the quotes " she is hard to work for" would apply to around 95% or CEO's (of either gender) - they are engaged to steer the company and that is a very demanding vocation.
3. Suggestions that Mr Turnbull may become CEO are not outlandish as he is a very successful business person - having started successful businesses and amassed a fortune of more than $200M, has global connections as a former PM are not outlandish. However, if he were appointed
I would not envisage it would be a long term appointment.
4. The global headhunting firm they have hired has an impeccable record internationally may well be searching globally to see what "fresh aspirants" are available and also, may be comparing such a short-list to any internal candidates. This is a normal process with global head hunters.
5. One needs to remember that FMG is at any important cross-road with FFI/FMG over the next 20 plus years of the business and this selection is one to watch carefully.
