I don’t recall the DoD making any announcement however it is very likely that IMC had to clear any announcement with the DoD. As The Don has noted there is little info about the arrangement that they have. But trying to look at it through a positive lens it would be a strategic protection for the US forces. What would be good to know is whether IMC will be the manufacturer of the product for the DoD or more likely that the DoD will be granted a license to manufacture for its own needs.
The DoD will not want to rely on an Australian manufacturer who couldn’t handle the change to new packaging without a delay to production for example.
I wonder if IMC will have a restriction on who it can then supply in the marketplace and how that could be monitored. It’s all unknown.
