The DOD can do a cost benefit analysis on this product now. Say it costs about $200 USD to provide it to each soldier for a one month posting including handling it etc. for 30 subjects there was need for 6 to take a day off work out of 30 over 7 days. Maybe we could estimate 10 working days in a month for 30 people - no idea - but probably not 24 days. Say the OS posting wage is $600 per day, that is $6000 saved in wages against $6000. Say one less medical person required with all gear and posting is about $10,000. And operational effectiveness is far more guaranteed.

My numbers are rushed, but it seems to be better than a freebie for the military, and a greater ability to complete tasks, and an insurance policy as well. Imaging nearly everybody in a platoon that is dug in, going down with a gut bug at the same time on the front line! How do you safely treat these guys or medevac them. What are the living conditions like re latrines etc?

Cost of doing anything re illness must be very high, and big risks to capital equipment and personnel.

Not sure if anybody has other, preferably dissenting, thoughts on the CB of this.
