The press release requires a bit of interpretation unfortunately: It's great to see copper at these concentrations at surface, but as the press release says "upstream of the “phyllic zone” seen in MWTR008 "is" (sic) an overlying limestone unit in which chalcopyrite in fractures (to 1% Chalcopyrite) and as veinlets has been observed". If that's the case (as they say), then it's much more likely that the high copper in the trench assays is simply confirming weathering of the chalcopyrite from the limestone; releasing soluble copper which then flows under gravity and reprecipitates (as the malachite and chalcocite) in the soils below the limestone, where the trenches are. The white clays (the weathering) in the pictures could easily be caused by the acid that's produced during this weathering process and which in turn chemically affects the rocks it flows through, bleaching them as per the pictures. There's certainly no evidence provided that the clays represent "phyllic" alteration (noting that Phil Jones uses the phrase "COULD represent the mineralised phyllic zone of a porphyry system", rather than DOES); phyllic alteration would be clearly showing the micas (sericite / muscovite) as present in the rocks. On the bright side, it's good to see consistent molybdenum present in the assays as it confirms magmatic fluids are in the area, but we know that anyway from their previous drill results. All in all... keep your powder dry till we see systematic evidence of an economically mineralised system.
