I guess the male plants would have been pulled once pollination had occurred and that might explain the holes in the crop and the resulting tonnage, but I’m no expert in this crop at all.
I just don’t see how the CEO can stay after this. The Board can debate all they want about operational visibility. It the CEO can’t. He’s not an ag guy, never has been, and he’s been shown up here. Had the experts working for him and yet this is the outcome. The point about field drying vs indoors is really relevant here and I can’t see how this wasn’t factored into the risk strategy (the Chair is a self-professed “risk expert” isn’t he?).
Inept operational decision making is where it should start I think, then look at the directors. Banning them from other directorships would surely be an easy start.
