trenching is usually 2-3m - a lot depends on how easy the ground is to dig. Good for mapping mineralisation orientation and trends, as well as providing bulk samples.

It looks like they have been using trenching as a low cost, low strip ratio mining method - fine for small scale mining, but I doubt it would keep a mill fed.
