This would bring more benefits than just adding newly discovered ounces (as important as that would be).
It would also reduce the waste to ore ratio by adding shallow ounces within the pit design. That would increase revenues and reduce cash cost per ounce from the existing pit design. The reduced waste to ore ratio would also allow for deeper pits and therefore adds even more ounces to the open pit by allowing mining of ounces already defined that would otherwise have been below the pit floor limits (we have hundreds of thousands of ounces at depth).
So the discovery of say a further 40,000oz within a pit design might allow for an extra 100,000oz to be recovered from deeper mining of that pit. Finding further ounces within existing pit designs will be more valuable than adding the same ounces along strike.

While the company has already reported some new veins and extensions of existing veins during early trial mining, the pits are still only very narrow while only a few meters deep. As they are deepened and widened significantly, the chances of further discoveries will be magnified.
