With respect to the US$1bn+ sales Acadia expects to reach this year, why shouldn’t that be trumpeted? Reaching $1bn in annual sales is a notable milestone for any company. It will only have taken Acadia 32 years and 9 years from its first drug launch to get there!
As for criticism over Ms Owen Adams’ choice of words – she said she wanted to “get back to growth in new patient starts”. For me, that’s both a fair assessment of the major growth-limiting factor for DayBue sales at the moment and a fair ambition for the company in 2025.
