From the website
Whilst the Turner Bayou project is currently focused on the exploration and development of the Austin Chalk, the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale is of particular interest given that, in 1977, a vertical completion in the formation by Gulf Oil tested at an initial rate over 100 barrels of oil per day and associated gas with no stimulation. The electronic log analysis of the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale in the Deshotels well indicates several hundred feet of sandy shale with an average porosity of 16%. This compares favourably to some of the better locations for the Eagle Ford play in South Texas which exhibit porosities in the 6% to 12% range. In addition to the Austin Chalk, this deeper play could also prove to be valuable for the Company and will be appraised and tested in future wells.

Then from todays ann
In 2010 Pryme’s Deshotels 20H well intersected the TMS and encountered minor reservoir rock with porosity up to 16% and very encouraging mud log hydrocarbon shows. The intersection compares favourably to some of the better locations in the Eagle Ford play in South Texas which exhibit porosities in the 6% to 12% range.
The bits Im super interested in are the descriptions of the lithology of the TMS
"several hundred feet of sandy shale with an average porosity of 16%" AND TODAY "minor reservoir rock with porosity up to 16%."
Note they are talking RESERVOIR rock not SOURCE rock.
This means we have conventional reservoirs rock interlaced with the TMS source rock.
All these resource plays are usually about blowing open the cement like source rocks, except the most profitable one of all the mighty Bakken which is a slim conventional reservoir overlain by sources rock.
The Alberta Duvernay also has trace amounts of conventional sands interlaced into the source rocks and is beginning to stir some excitement with last weeks takeover of Celtic by Exxon
Sensational early signs we may have inherited a sweet spot in the TMS.
Seriously hope the EOG results are made public, very exciting times for this company in 2013 imo.
