Hi Propunter, it was good to see the photo of the plaque at the top of the "5 Rivers lookout". On that plaque it displays where the 'GUT" is in relation to the surrounding area and Wyndham.
The amount of water that flows through the GUT on a daily basis is phenomenal. That water is driven by the tide at least twice a day in and out.
The amount of hydro power that could be produced by simply installing some generators suspended from cables across the gut would be phenomenal. The energy, of course, could be stored in Vanadium flow batteries and dispatched when the tide is not flowing.
It as been a long time since I have been there, but I recall the area to be very spectacular.
It would be great to see a tidal power plant feeding energy to the vanadium and Fluorite mines.
