PB and co seemed to take offense to it, and threw the baby out with the bathwater.

In reality, I think a formalized response/report in the tone of this new announcement may be all that is needed.
i.e: Middle arm is the only economical location for the project. It's an environmentally sensitive location that needs to be respected. All controls/comments from the EPA/DEPWS will be abided by.

If the project goes ahead it will offer XXXX jobs and XXXXXX in local expenditure.
Other locations including Mt Peake have been considered however they are not economically viable and present equivalent environmental risks (water requirements), land clearing, haulage route upgrades.
Over to you NT EPA and DEPWS....
