The portfolio is a mess, and way to reliant on Penfolds, and China. China's economy has been slowing for some time, and we all know this. TWE should have been mitigating risk with broader distribution, and making markets hanker over the well crafted booze that Peter Gago orchestrates. As I've said before he's a gun, great organiser, clever winemaker, and great with presentation.
Clarke has taken the soft, easy road, now things will get difficult. TWE need to re examine N America, India, Emirates, etc.....
It's good that Clarke is pulling the pin for "family reasons" ie been tapped on the shoulder by an intelligent director who has his number.
I wish he would just go, instead of milking it, as TWE is in caretaker mode.
