The ground up there has lots of gold and they were confident of finding it in our acreage. I would be very surprised if there wasn't a significant find.
As for softening up etc, I think you are right, but it would have worked the other way round. My guess is that they had a plan for the CR completely ready to drop once they knew they had good news to deliver - eg they may have analysed samples in-house and known what they have but can't release that until it is verified by external assayers or whatever.
Either way, going by recent history, I'm hoping for a rollercoaster ride over 10 cents.
