OFC you've lost capital. Why do people keep thinking that capital is only the amount you invest. Capital is what the investment is worth at each point in time because that is how much you have that could be diverted elsewhere. Hence why there a CAPITAL gain if the share price goes up, because your CAPITAL has gone up. And vice versa if there is a loss.
Therefore risk tolerance is determined at every point in time, not just at investment stage, and by a while lot of variables. Does the person use a stop loss, is the person a short term trader, how much of the person's asset value did they put into the investment, will the person be escrowed for that seed investment etc etc.
