re: Ann: TZ teams with Toll to trial A. D. A.... I particularly liked these passages from the AFR article. Thanks btw MM.
“This is huge, people view it as a technology story from a small company, but really it is a revolutionary change in the logistics industry,” Mr Bouris said.
And isn't this great to hear?
While declining to name other logistics providers engaged in discussions, Mr Bouris praised Toll for its open approach to TZ’s offering. He said the company never sought to insist on an exclusive arrangement, as it recognised that a holistic delivery approach for online retailers was central to TZ’s business model.
“We are an agnostic service, if we limit it to individual logistics providers then you are just doing what Australia Post is already doing, it is an advantage we are going to stick to,” Mr Bouris said.
“Nobody else in the world has this agnostic system, they are all just doing solutions for their own services. Google is doing it for themselves, so is Amazon, so is Wal-Mart and so is Australia Post. We are doing a totally different model, which is why we are at the forefront of a lot of interest across the region, and Toll is a major plank for us in that.”
Mr Bouris said the trial period with Toll was not about Toll assessing the quality of TZ’s lockers, but was put in place so that Toll could assess how well it could make the TZ system fit in with its existing systems.
