There's a world of difference between this and the iMed deal. Re iMed, I don't have any special information, but if I had been in Andreas' shoes I would have taken almost any amount per scan, just to get the product out there. Especially since the incremental cost per scan is trivial and there is no Medicare item for it yet. In the US the technology has enough traction to get the equivalent of a Medicare item number as well as the following of major medical institutions. As demand picks up the the price charged to the providers will rise, and a $299 rebate allows plenty of room for that.
