It would have so many strengths. UCL has made the running at Sandpiper and has attracted the monied parties so far and are best placed to drive the development. Doing that sort of swap would leave both sets of holders with exactly the same exposure they currently have. It would take pressure off MAK to try and find investors which they seem to be struggling with and it would also effectively achieve Yellowcakes suggestion of floating Wonarah as the remaining assets in MAK are immaterial. The only thing it wouldn't acheive for MAK holders would be to change the MAK board for those that are calling for that.
UCL have stated at least a couple of times they have had discussions with MAK over an extended period and have canvassed multiple options. It would have been interesting to know if that was one of the options suggested.
