The story eventually comes out one way or another publicly
Interesting looking back as we were in the dark as to why executives were sacked ,
- exactly what the offense was
- how they did it and possibly how they or others profited
- how it wasn't noticed back in head office

Have we been enlightened by recent reports? I think so
It wasn't the furphy of the weather but seemingly a manipulation of a metric they were paid bonuses on and they tweeked it (obviously too much) and it still took a whistle blower to bring it to attention of AU management when they should have spotted it quickly IMO? That damaged the business and its reputation IMO. Worse than that is the opaqueness of management and reporting announcements. It is obvious IMO now in hindsight all the people that really wanted to know found out , revalued the business and assessment of management and sold it down meanwhile retail held the can.

Crazy thing is that public manipulable metric is still used to value the business in recent reports.
