A few weeks ago Francis Egan said that if they were allowed to Frack immediately, Cuadrilla could be putting gas into the grid by January. Personally I think that is complete hubris. With permitting, financing, JV negotiations etc, my guess would be 12 months minimum.
Not sure that the extended timeframe will be that detrimental. Russia will be a Pariah long after the conflict in Ukraine is over. They have proved themselves an unreliable and capricious supplier. I think the West will avoid dealing with them wherever possible. The long lead time for projects, the huge cost of developing large fields, and growing renewable supply, will make for a volatile Gas price going forward. But, imo, the risk is to the upside
