    As @Bouddha0357 said, under Australian mining rules they would be working under the owner's safety standards. Since there has been a pattern of incidents over the years I think it is clear that the safety-culture at the mine needs to be improved, particularly around fatal risks.

    As for not owning any shares - I don't see it as relevant to the discussion. You can apply whatever 'outsider'/ 'insider' thought process you like. I have owned shares numerous times and as I said, part of the reason I don't own them now is because of incidents like this.

    How long before there is a more serious safety incident that threatens their mining license? I can't deal with that risk given its a single asset producer. If you think it's not possible I suggest looking at what happened to Red5 back in the day when they had tailings issues at their single asset in the Philippines.
