I still can't believe there is a week between taking up the offer and the vwap price being calculated at time of issue. (And a couple positive announcements due over next few weeks)

It seems to me that it is set up perfectly for Pattersons if we get some good news and they go into accumulation mode over next few weeks - drive the price up a bit to the point where many no longer want to take up the offer. They know they will then receive a large allocation and then use that week after the close date to sell off like crazy just before the vwap is calculated. Price crashes and they get a bargain.

With this possibility out there it makes me think I should just buy now in the aftermath of negative CR sentiment if the price drops a bit more. 11c next week might be better buy-in than at a 15% discount to say 16c in a few weeks time... (16c or more may sound good to people but it would be followed by Patterson's selloff if my scenario played out)
