Definitely not meaningless, the smaller one is much more suited to domestic use atm and people will pay to have a fast charger at their disposal imo. Right now, the EFACEC charger is the tidiest of the smaller fast chargers I've come across, the real question is how long that will last and whether RFT's tech will stay at the forefront of innovation with so many large companies potentially working on their own solutions.

Also the other burning question is how long it will take for the larger chargers to become less bulky, and whether RFT's tech will be part of that solution.
