A little bit of trivia re Netflix. The three guys who started Netflix were offered one sit-down with the board of Blockbuster video, America's largest bricks and mortar video chain , to pitch their idea to getting some backing. The head of Blockbuster turned them down saying Netflix would never work as customers wanted go into the stores, see the product , buy the snacks etc . Just goes to show .
"They were flat-out rejected. John Antioco, CEO of Blockbuster, deemed Netflix a niche business and said “the dot-com hysteria is completely overblown,” according to a 2019 book Randolph wrote about Netflix's beginnings"
