It's not as good as you think, the special dividend amount will be taken off from the $5/share amount. So if it is 11c then the cash proceeds will be $4.89/share. The only benefit is the franking credits which if the div is $0.11 be $0.0471. Meaning total offer is $5.0471/share. This is cream on top but not what I think most of you though when you hear there was a div on top of the cash proceeds.
