By my thinking the latter is entirely possible. I think he wants to quit O&G in OZ except for existing on shore gas. If Barossa doesn't get up at the next try then it's odds on IMO. He's on the way out anyway and doesn't want a blemish on his good record. Can't disagree with his thinking.
