I don't know how much the company will save by cleaning up the register, but my first thought was more toward a possible merger or t/o offer in the pipeline. To sell shares on the market means that there has to be buyers, the small holders who want to retain their holding by buying more shares would only provide a smallish market for the sellers......so who are they expecting to buy these shares?
Maybe a share consolidation will follow the register clean up, a 20 to 1 rate would bring the s.o.i. to around 535,000,000 , I'm just thinking aloud, because it seems a bit strange to me that this cleanup is happening just as the company seems to be well positioned with their zero emission tech raising some interest among carbon producing industries, who have to cut their carbon output somehow. I'd hate to see the very patient (and pissed off) long term holders sell now only to see a turn around within the next year or 2. I'm going to hang onto my pocket change holding and see where the s/p is in 10 years time.
