For someone like me, who holds their shares directly and not in a superannuation fund, it would be more tax effective to sell shares and take advantage of the 50% CGT reduction, than receive an unfranked dividend and pay tax on the whole amount at my top marginal rate.
Anyone who’s held CSL since the float would probably be in the same position.
