If people are investing in gold explorers on the basis of a fluctuating gold price I would call them either traders looking for the scalp or lemmings throwing their money into the abyss. As you mention patience and timing are key, together with good ground yielding solid results. I agree, early days but shaping up nicely. IMO Jason has implemented a well constructed plan and so far has turned up some exciting and encouraging results. A highly speculative play but backed by great historical data.

This current volatile market has has been quite a spectacle.
