The blame is squarely on DR's shoulders. The DFS was inflated, cost under represented and then once mining started the strip ratio was increased. The resource wasn't properly drilled as I first thought it was a proved to be too skinny and discontinuous which is why there is so much dilution and it was unavoidable because of the way the gold bearing ore was laid out.
So for me I think it would pay to actually map out the drill holes in any future or existing investment ( gamble) if a side view is the only thing shown in these presentations. Also do more digging to check the history of these old areas. Most of all really check the history of the CEO and chairman and if the mining doesn't go to plan and the recovered grades are below 1g get the hell out....IMHO.
