Can’t see any reason why this announcement affected the SP fall today, just down on a down day
The announcement will only affect those valuing a tax loss in relation to the buy back price and capital component. Most shareholders taking up the buyback will be in pension mode wanting the franking credits, and not the capital loss benefit
